Singer and guitarist Knebl from Zagreb discovered indigenous folk traditions relatively late in life and began singing professionally aged 47. Nevertheless, she’s one of the more authentic figures of the Croatian folk revival, bringing a fresh, untutored singing style to the narrative songs of northern and eastern Croatia which had all but disappeared from the mainstream folk repertoire.
